Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has been made aware of a video which is circulating on social media which was taken during the Ulster Fleadh in Dromore.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (the Council) understands that the video was captured at an event which took place in a pub in Dromore during the Ulster Fleadh.

The Council has received assurances from Dun Uladh, Comhaltas Ceoltóiri Éireann (CCE) and the Ulster Fleadh Organising Committee that this was not an event supported or arranged by CCE and was not part of the Ulster Fleadh.

The Council supports the Ulster Fleadh through a sponsorship agreement with CCE.  This sponsorship relates to official Fleadh activities and an agreed programme.  The Council can confirm that as this event was not part of the official Fleadh activities it was not in receipt of any Council support.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to promoting equality and good relations for everyone in the district. Equality, inclusivity and diversity are placed at the core of all of the Council’s services and actions, as it strives to work towards achieving a shared future for all.   This commitment is reflected in grant and sponsorship agreements issued by the Council; event organisers in receipt of Council support must adhere to the principle of promoting good relations.
