‘Shifting Walls’ is a group exhibition by professional artists Kate Beagan, Jo Cummins, Roisin Duffy, Jackie Hudson-Lalor and Niamh O’Connor.

Curated by Sinéad Smith, the exhibition opens at 7pm in Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on Thursday 25th July and all are welcome to attend.

The works on show at the exhibition include painting in oils and acrylic, printmaking (etching & wax & pigment monotypes), sculpture, installation, drawing and poetry.

In this show, there are five established artists working together to the theme of ‘Shifting Walls’, interpreting what that means to them as artists at this particular phase of their lives – a time of great flux and change on a personal, social and physical level.

Having met up in 2017 with a view to working together, the artists discussed their work, working methods and inspiration at this particular point in their lives. Very quickly, during the discussion of their individual arts practice and the common thread of flux in their lives and the world in general, the theme ‘Shifting Walls’ emerged and they have been very excited to see the works that have been created from each of them in response to this theme.

Strule Arts Centre, Omagh is the first Gallery to host this exhibition and the artists are pleased to have the opportunity to show their work cross border in such a fantastic venue. In September, the exhibition will travel to The Market House, Market Street, Co. Monaghan and then onto Droichead Arts Centre, Co. Louth in March 2020.

The exhibition runs until Saturday 25 August. Admission is free. The Gallery is open from 9.30am – 17.00, Monday – Saturday. For more information, contact 028 8224 7831 or www.struleartscentre.co.uk.
