The Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie, speaking at the launch of the 2019 Fermanagh and Omagh Sports Forum Sports Awards, said:

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in partnership with Fermanagh & Omagh Sports Forum, is delighted to launch the 2019 Sports Awards, which recognise those teams and individuals who have made a particular contribution to sport in the District. This year has once again been an outstanding one for sporting achievement across a wide range of sports and the awards provide a great platform for recognition and celebration. I encourage residents to become involved and submit their nominations for the 2019 Sports Awards.”

The Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh Sports Forum, Bernie Fox, speaking about this year’s Sports Awards and also encouraging award nominations, said:

“The Sports Awards afford us an excellent opportunity to acknowledge the diligence and commitment of all our sporting talent. It is also fitting that the Awards recognise the essential role played by coaches and volunteers. In the weeks ahead, we greatly look forward to receiving nominations for each of the award categories.”

Anyone can submit a nomination for the Sports Awards.

It is not necessary to submit a number of nominations for one candidate as the final shortlist of nominees will be compiled by Fermanagh and Omagh Sports Forum and will not be based on the number of nominations received.

The award recipients will be announced at the Fermanagh and Omagh Sports Forum Awards presentation evening at the Silverbirch Hotel, Omagh, on Friday 13 March 2020.
