Omagh Space Age Halloween to be out of this world

Halloween in Omagh will be out of this world with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council launching details of this year’s ‘Space Age Halloween’ themed event.

With 2019 marking 50 years since man first set foot on the moon, Omagh is on T-Minus countdown for this year’s event taking place on Thursday 31 October 2019.

From 6pm, the OASIS Plaza will host a range of entertainment including a Space Age Halloween fancy dress party, games and music from the mysterious DJ all while keeping an eye out for space age characters as they wander around the plaza.

More Halloween fun will be on offer at Drumragh Avenue car park where people will really be able to get into a spin as they venture through the vortex tunnel. Street vendors will also be located at Drumragh Avenue car park.

People are encouraged to embrace this year’s Space Age theme by dressing up as their favourite space age or out of this world characters.

The spectacular fireworks and pyrotechnic display will launch from the Strule Arts Centre roof top at 7.50pm.

Launching details of this year’s event in Omagh, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie, said:

“Halloween is one of the Council’s flagship events attracting large crowds to Omagh. We look forward to welcoming visitors from near or from a galaxy far far away to Omagh this Halloween.”

A range of supports to access this event are available including limited blue-badge parking at Drumragh Avenue car park; a designated viewing area of the fireworks display for people with disabilities located on the upper level of the OASIS Plaza and accessible toilets located on the upper and lower level of the plaza.

Admission to the ‘Space Age Halloween’ event on the OASIS Plaza and Drumragh Avenue car park is free of charge however numbers permitted on OASIS Plaza upper level are limited and access may be restricted during the event.

Meanwhile, Strule Arts Centre will host Cahoots Theatre and its ‘Secrets of Space’ show. Suitable for children aged 7 and over the show uses magical illusions and a state -of-the-art digital LED wall to chart the interactive journey of characters Suni and Mea along with the audience across the galaxy as they explore dazzling imagery and the wonders of the cosmos using key ideas in science and technology.
