Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in partnership with Fermanagh Orienteers has launched Fermanagh and Omagh Orienteering Trails, the FOOT series, a new free Virtual Orienteering programme across the Fermanagh and Omagh district.

The FOOT Series will offer 7 months of FREE fun and adventure across the Fermanagh and Omagh district providing not only an opportunity for the whole family to get outdoors exploring but also to enjoy socially distanced orienteering in a location near you.

Speaking about the launch of the FOOT series, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Diana Armstrong said;

“ the Covid-19 pandemic has undoubtedly provided many significant challenges to us over the past year, particularly in how we exercise safely while mitigating against the risk of spreading the coronavirus. We have had to look at innovative ways of delivering programmes and the FOOT series is an excellent way of affording people the opportunity of discovering some of the wonderful orienteering courses which the district possesses in a safe, socially distanced manner while remaining close to home.

The FOOT series is an excellent initiative and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is delighted to be supporting Fermanagh Orienteers in this ambitious new programme.”

Upon registration, participants will receive two new orienteering routes each month (short and long course). Maps and support will be provided via the MapRun6 app as part of the registration process.
