Council to light-up buildings on dates during June.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on selected dates throughout the month of June.

Both buildings will be illuminated blue on Wednesday 1 June to mark Volunteer Week. On Thursday 2 June both buildings will be illuminated purple to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre will be illuminated Green on Friday 10 June in recognition of Fermanagh County Fleadh. On Wednesday15 June both buildings will be illuminated purple to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is aimed at encouraging the world to pay greater attention to the well-being and adequate health care of older people.

On Monday 27 June both buildings will be illuminated purple to mark Deafblind Awareness week. Deafblind Awareness week raises awareness of dual sensory loss. Deafblindness is far more common than many people realise… around 400,000 people are affected by sight and hearing loss in the UK.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council illuminates buildings to recognise days of significance to groups within the wider community. The Council also illuminates buildings in support of a particular campaign, charity or initiative.
