Fermanagh and Omagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership and Omagh PSNI are holding a trailer-marking event on Monday 7 June 2021 at the Omagh Auction Mart, 5, Gillygooley Road, from 09:30am-15:00pm.

Residents within the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area can avail of this trailer-marking event, which will provide a unique stencilled code on their trailer. Each number can be used for other equipment or machinery if appropriate. The trailer-marking project will provide a unique identifying code stenciled onto the trailer or appliance. The codes will be stored on a database system and used to trace stolen or recovered trailers.

Cllr John Mc Claughry, Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP, stated “Trailer marking remains one of the most effective ways to deter trailer theft. This project ensures that stolen trailers are more easily traceable and also advises the public on how to best protect their trailers from theft”

Trailer marking events have been extremely successful in previous years with almost 1000 codes issued so far. Indeed it is anticipated that the 1000th Trailer will be marked at this event and there will be a special presentation to the lucky participant who will receive a valuable gift from Fermanagh and Omagh PCSP.  Please bring along your trailers and horseboxes to be marked. All trailers are marked free of charge.

This project is funded through the Fermanagh and Omagh Community Policing and Community Safety Partnership. The Partnership aims to develop and deliver community safety initiatives which are sustainable and provide solutions to problems identified by local people.
