Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is seeking the views of residents in Fintona to inform the future development of play facilities in the village and has arranged drop-in consultation sessions to enable residents to make their views known.

The Council recently approved a new Play Park Strategy 2021- 2030 which would guide the future provision, upgrade, development and sustainable management of play parks across the district.  As part of year one works for the Strategy, development and transformation of the play areas in Fintona has been identified as priority.

The proposals will see the play parks at Ecclesville Park and Ashfield Gardens upgraded, making them modern and more inclusive, and the transformation of the play parks at Meadowbrook Mills and Denamona Heights into high quality green spaces for use by the community.

Councillor Errol Thompson, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council said;

“The Play Park Strategy aims to develop and deliver a sustainable action plan for inclusive and accessible play spaces and provision across the district that meets the needs of all our children and young people.

I would encourage the residents of Fintona to make their views known on the plans for play facilities in the village either by attending one of the four drop-in sessions or by completing the online survey online.

The drop-in sessions will take place as follows:

Tuesday 24 August 2021

Session 1      Ashfield Gardens Play Park                       11.00 am – 1.00 pm

Session 2      Ecclesville Play Park                                   2.00 pm – 4.00 pm

Wednesday 25 August 2021

Session 1      Meadowbrook Mills                                      11.00 am – 1.00 pm

Session 2      Denamona Play Park                                  2.00 pm – 4.00 pm

If you are unable to attend in person, residents can contribute to the process by completing the survey which can be accessed online by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Fintona_Play_Parks.
