Final call for applications for the second Coach Club Session

As part of its Coach Education Programme 2019 – 2020, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in partnership with Sport Northern Ireland, has organised various Coach Club Sessions which will be facilitated by leading coaching experts.

The second Coach Club Session will take place on Thursday 16 January 2020 at the Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown from 7pm – 9pm. Dr Sharon Madigan, Performance Nutritionist with the Irish Institute of Sport will be the guest speaker.

Dr Madigan who has the responsibility of co – ordinating nutrition for elite Irish athletes across a range of sports has also facilitated nutrition education for Ulster Rugby and various County and Club GAA teams including Down, Donegal and Dublin Hurling team.

Speaking about the forthcoming Coach Club Session, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie said;

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is delighted to host the second session as part of the Coach Club initiative. I would encourage sporting enthusiasts, coaches and volunteers to avail of the opportunity to attend Sharon’s session to further knowledge and understanding of nutrition to potential enhance performance but holistic athlete health and well – being”.

Michael Cooke from Sport Northern Ireland said;

“It’s fantastic to have someone of Sharon’s calibre leading a session here in the North West. The Coach Club initiative is open to coaches from all sports at all levels. Along with Fermanagh and Omagh District Council we are excited about creating an excellent learning environment for coaches in the local area”.
