The 6th annual Festival Lough Erne officially launched with a packed programme of events on Sunday 12 September 2021.

The festival, which is a celebration of the very best of our beautiful Lakelands, is returning for a sixth year and is running at locations across  Lough Erne system and the wider Fermanagh Lakelands destination for the week from 12-19 September.

The programme includes activities both water and land-based, incorporating wellbeing events, lough shore walks, webinar talks, heritage events and food and beverage experiences.

Sunday saw the festival open with Upper Lough Erne Heritage Tours with Erne Water Taxi, plenty of splashes at the Water Park at Share Discovery Village, a new addition of paddle boats at Fermanagh Fun Farm, lots of natural creativity with nature arts & crafts in the Geopark, a hugely successful charity swim supporting the RNLI and a media event with Wilde Dining at Castle Caldwell.

There are more than 70 events scheduled throughout the next week and while some events are sold out, there is still limited availability on a number of others. Please visit the Festival website, where you will find the full programme to see which events still have availability.

So far, the festival has attracted visitors from Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin and Liverpool.

The full programme of activities is available to view at www.festivallougherne.com. Alternatively, the full programme of events can be viewed here.  You can follow the festival on social media at @fermanaghlakelands @fermanaghomaghdc #ernefest
