Events and Festival Sponsorship Scheme Opens.

24th January 2022

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is inviting online applications for Sponsorship from Event and Festival organisers that deliver events within the district.

Sponsorship will be considered for Major, Large and Medium Scale Events and Festivals that take place until March 2023. The Council are keen to encourage events and festivals that support economic recovery, attract visitors to the area, deliver positive social benefits and project a positive image of the district. Events marking the Platinum Jubilee are also eligible under the Sponsorship Scheme.

Speaking about the sponsorship call out, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Errol Thompson, said;

“Events and Festivals have traditionally played a key role in the economic, tourism, social, community and cultural life of the Fermanagh and Omagh district. As we all know the events and festivals industry has been devastated by the Covid -19 pandemic, therefore it is important that the Council supports the event and festival sector in the district. We want to work and strengthen partnerships with event organisers in becoming an ‘event friendly district’ and the Council looks to sponsorship as one of the steps in this pathway to recovery.”

Applications to the Sponsorship Scheme are being accepted on a rolling basis with a number of designated closing dates throughout the year for assessment purposes.

Online applications are now open and will close on Monday 28th February 2022 with other closing dates in May, September, and November 2022 subject to funding reserves.

Small scale community, sports, arts events and festivals will not be considered under the Sponsorship Scheme, however, the Council will support small local events through Community Wellbeing Grant Aid.
