Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle on two occasions during the month of April to mark various events.

Enniskillen Castle will be lit blue on Tuesday 16 April 2019 to mark the launch of the newly formed cancer survivorship group ‘SWeLL’ which aims to improve the physical and mental well-being of people in Fermanagh living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis.

The official SWeLL launch event will take place on 17 April at the Killyhevlin Hotel, Enniskillen, at 7pm. For further information about the group or launch event please contact Genevieve Irvine by emailing admin@swellinfo.org or telephoning 07902 368 475.

On Wednesday 17 April 2019, Enniskillen Castle will be lit up purple, on behalf of Enniskillen Sarcoidosis Support Group, to mark World Sarcoidosis Day.

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease often affecting the lungs, eyes, lymph nodes and skin, for which there is no known cure. Worldwide, the condition affects 1 – 2 in every 10,000 people, however the island of Ireland has the highest incidence of sarcoidosis, affecting 1 – 2 in every 1,500 people.

For further information about support available locally for those living with sarcoidosis please contact the Enniskillen Sarcoidosis Support Group by emailing enniskillensarcgroup@yahoo.com.

The illumination of Council venues is just one way in which the Council may provide support to a particular charity.
