Councillor Siobhán Currie, Chair of Fermanagh & Omagh District Council Statement on coronavirus, COVID-19.

9th March 2020

PLEASE NOTE: This article is over 1 year old and may not contain the most up-to-date information.
I would like to reassure all residents that Fermanagh and Omagh District Council continues to monitor and review the situation with regard to the coronavirus, COVID-19, and will continue to act in accordance with any advice provided by the Public Health Agency (PHA).  Given our border proximity, residents may also wish to access updates provided by the Health Service Executive should they be travelling to the South.  I understand that the PHA and HSE continue to communicate on a regular basis regarding COVID-19.
As of 4.30 pm on Monday 9 March 2020, there has been no advice from the PHA to restrict mass gatherings and as such the St Patrick’s Day parades in Omagh and Enniskillen are going ahead as planned. However this will be kept under review.

I would urge all residents to follow the advice issued by the Public Health Agency in relation to hygiene and to visit the PHA website at https://www.publichealth.hscni.net/news/covid-19-coronavirus for further guidance.
