Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in association with the National Energy Action (NEA), and supported by the Public Health Agency, and Department for Communities,  is hosting an online webinar, “All you need to know about Fuel Poverty” on Monday 1 March 2021 at 10.00 am.

The webinar which is free to join, will provide tailored advice and support to community groups and organisations operating in the Fermanagh and Omagh district on where to access help for residents suffering the consequences of fuel poverty and signpost them to the programmes and schemes that they can refer clients onto for help.

Speaking about the upcoming webinar, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Diana Armstrong said

“Fuel poverty is a very real issue in our district today. It has been exacerbated by issues around Covid-19, with people spending more time at home leading to  increased costs associated with additional heating and electricity demands. I would encourage all community groups and organisations to join this webinar to find out what support is out there for residents to help combat fuel poverty.

The webinar will focus on information on the NI Electricity and NI Water Care schemes, Cold weather/winter fuel payments, fuel debt advice and energy efficiency schemes available.

The webinar will be of particular interest to Foodbanks, St Vincent De Paul, Advice Services, Woman’s Groups, Family Support Hubs, Senior Citizen Groups, Rural Community Groups, Housing Support Groups, Befriending Groups and Healthy Living Centre’s.
