Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is seeking the views of residents of Sixmilecross and Maguiresbridge to inform the future development of play facilities in both villages and has arranged consultation sessions in early October to enable residents to make their views known.

The Council recently approved a new Play Park Strategy which will guide the future provision, upgrade, development and sustainable management of play parks across the district.  As part of year one works for the strategy, development and transformation of the play areas in Sixmilecross and Maguiresbridge have been identified as priority.

Councillor Errol Thompson, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council said;

“The play strategy aims to develop and deliver a sustainable action plan for inclusive and accessible play spaces and provision across the district that meets the needs of all our children and young people.

I would encourage the residents of these areas to make their views known on the plans for play facilities in the villages either by attending one of the sessions or by completing the online survey online”.

The consultation sessions will take place as follows:

Monday 04 October

Sixmilecross Community Centre Main St, Sixmilecross           8-9 pm

Thursday 07 October

Maguiresbridge Controlled Primary School                                8-9pm

If you are unable to attend in person, residents can contribute to the consultation by accessing the relevant survey online by visiting

The surveys close on Monday 11 October 2021 at 5.00pm.
