Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is seeking the views of residents of Belcoo and Garrison to inform the future development of play facilities in the villages and has arranged drop-in consultation sessions to enable residents to make their views known.

The Council recently approved a new Play Park Strategy which will guide the future provision, upgrade, development and sustainable management of play parks across the district.  As part of year one works for the strategy, development and transformation of the play areas in Belcoo and Garrison have been identified as priority.

The proposals will see the play parks at Cottage Lawn and Rusheen Park upgraded, making them modern and inclusive, and the transformation of the play parks at Loughview Drive and Melvin Park into high quality green spaces for use by the community.

Councillor Errol Thompson, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council said;

“The play strategy aims to develop and deliver a sustainable action plan for inclusive and accessible play spaces and provision across the district that meets the needs of all our children and young people.

I would encourage the residents of Belcoo and Garrison to make their views known on the plans for play facilities in the villages either by attending one of the four drop-in sessions or by completing the online survey online.

The drop-in sessions will take place as follows:

Monday 13th September

Belcoo Community Centre                                                 8-9pm

Tuesday 14th September

Gilaroo Centre, Garrison                                                    8-9pm

If you are unable to attend in person, residents can access the survey online by clicking on the either of the following links  https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/Belcoo  or  https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/GarrisonPP

The surveys close on Thursday 16 September 2021 at 5.00pm.
