Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has announced that it will be launching a new programme offering Apprenticeships within the Council and is seeking expressions of interest from anyone who wishes to take up this opportunity.

The announcement coincides with Apprenticeship Week, a Northern Ireland wide initiative that seeks to demonstrate how apprenticeships work for individuals, businesses, communities and the wider economy.

Apprenticeships are being offered in;

  • Energy,
  • Environment and Sustainable Energy,
  • Building Services with Sustainable Energy,
  • Civil and Construction Engineering,
  • the Creative and Culture sectors,
  • Customer Services
  • Vehicle Maintenance.

Speaking about the scheme, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District council, Councillor Diana Armstrong said;

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to improving quality of life for all our people wishing to remain and retrain within the district. I am delighted that our Council is taking a proactive approach to supporting this week-long celebration of apprenticeships by offering this excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to retrain or to improve their employability by availing of an apprenticeship with the Council in these areas. Apprenticeships can be life changing and can offer a fast and reliable route to obtaining a recognised qualification while getting on the job training.

Apprenticeship Week is the perfect time to unveil the new apprenticeships and I would encourage interested parties to register their interest as soon as possible as demand is likely to be high.”

To register your interest please email hr@fermanaghomagh.com  stating your name, address and area of interest before Monday 31 May 2021.
