Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is offering a free ‘come and try it’ Inclusive Activity afternoon at Omagh Leisure Complex on Saturday 21 March 2020 from 2pm-5pm. This programme is being delivered as part of the Council’s Disability Sports Hub project.

Equipment such as adapted bikes/trikes and sports wheelchairs have been purchased in partnership with Disability Sport NI, through funding from Department for Communities via Sport Northern Ireland I and will be available on the day for participants to “have a go.”

Speaking about the inclusive activity afternoon, the Chair of Fermanagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie said “Being physically active is important for our health and well-being. Involvement in physical activity from a young age can help develop and encourage life-long participation in activities which will support a healthy and active lifestyle. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has worked in partnership with the voluntary statutory and business sectors to deliver programmes which add to the quality of life of all the residents of the district and is delighted to be working with Disability Sport NI to provide this excellent opportunity to avail of the opportunity to familiarise themselves with this equipment.”

Activities will be led by qualified sports coaches and information about future inclusive programme will be available on the day.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

While the activities are free, it is necessary to preregister for the day.
