Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has launched an innovative virtual programme for primary school children for the summer months.

The ‘Connected Kids’ is an online summer programme for children aged 4- 11 years old and embraces a wide range of activities.

Speaking about the programme, the Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Chris Smyth said “I welcome this wonderfully innovative approach to the delivery of such an exciting programme for children over the month of July. Officers  across the  Arts and Heritage, Community and Leisure, Recreation and Sport services have been working extremely hard over the past few weeks to put together an online programme of activities which will keep children active and engaged during the holiday period. While this year’s summer programme is certainly different to previous years as a result of the restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, I am confident that “Connected Kids” will prove to be incredibly enjoyable and successful.”

‘Connected Kids’ will offer a range of activities that will encourage learning, creativity and physical activity in short bite-sized videos that feature, dance, sports skills, arts, crafts, biodiversity activities, lego animation, model making and much more for ages 4-7 and 8-11 years with additional activities suitable for children with disabilities.

Connected Kids runs Monday to Friday from 06 July until 31 July and is free to view on Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s YouTube channel available at https://bit.ly/FODCConnectedKids.
