From Monday 8 June 2020 recycling centres at Gortrush, Omagh; Drummee, Enniskillen; Carrickmore; Kesh; Lisnaskea; Fintona; Newtownbutler and Belleek will begin to accept all waste and recyclable materials as part of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s phased programme of reopening of its recycling centres.

Items for disposal may be brought to the recycling centres in cars, trailers and vans.

Currently, access to recycling centres is restricted to cars for the disposal of essential bagged household and bagged garden waste only.

In addition, recycling centres at Gortrush, Omagh and Drummee, Enniskillen will be open on Saturday 6 June 2020 for the disposal of garden and wood waste only.

The Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Chris Smyth said:

“I welcome the next phase of the reopening of recycling centres which represents a return to full service across the district.

I would like to thank the members of the public for their co-operation in relation to the phased reopening of recycling centres so far. With the additional service, I would anticipate that sites will be busy and would ask that residents only visit a site if it is essential to do so and if you are unable either to safely store the waste at home at this time or dispose of it through the usual kerbside collections . When visiting sites people should continue to exercise patience and caution and follow social guidelines to ensure the safety of staff and other sites users at all times.”

All visitors to the sites will be required to follow traffic management controls put in place to manage the safe disposal of waste. Visitors to the sites should bring their own gloves and use hand sanitizer provided. Bins will available at the exit to dispose of gloves safely.

Regrettably, site staff cannot assist with off-loading material at this time. Site users must dispose of their own waste into the containers provided however users may bring assistance with them but must adhere to current government guidance.

The Council continues to monitor site openings and arrangements in line with public health and government guidance. For the latest information and opening hours of the recycling centres, please visit the Council website.
