Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has organised a series of free webinars during the month of February as part of its Tourism Support programme.

The programme is aimed at individuals or businesses who work in or who are part of the tourism sector in the Fermanagh and Omagh district.

The next in the series of webinars, Meeting Visitor Needs in 2021, takes place at 10.00 am on Friday 12 February 2021 and will focus on topics such as emerging visitor trends for 2021, changes to behaviours and opinions, understanding the customer journey and ideas on how to meet the needs of the customer.

The webinar will be delivered by Catherine Scott of Insight Mystery Shopping. Catherine brings a wealth of experience having worked for more than 25 years in customer services specialising in the tourism sector and whose customers include Tourism NI and major hotels.

The first “Fam Trip Friday” webinar takes place on Friday 26 February 2021 at 11.00 am.

“Fam Trip Friday” is a series of webinars that gives businesses within the tourism sector in the Fermanagh and Omagh district the opportunity to better understand the tourism product on offer across the district. It will also provide businesses seeking to develop experiences in the district to network with other businesses in the sector.

The webinar will also feature a presentation on the new mountain bike trails at Gortin Glen Forest Park.

Speaking about the Tourism Support programme, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Diana Armstrong said;

“The last 10 months have been extremely difficult for businesses across all sectors as a result of Covid-19. All businesses have had to adapt to a new normal and the tourism sector and businesses who rely on the sector have faced serious challenges

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has continued to offer support to businesses throughout the last few months through its suite of business mentoring programmes and the series of webinars as part of the Tourism Support programme is an extension of that support.

I would urge business owners in the tourism sector across the district to avail of these interactive events and maximise the opportunity to explore new avenues which will benefit their business.
