Mental Wealth Workshop

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has announced details of a free online Mental Health event which will take place on Tuesday 11 May 2021 commencing at 11.00 am.

The event, “Promoting Mental Wealth”, will be hosted by the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Diana Armstrong and will be delivered by Emma Weaver, founder of Mental Wealth International. Emma has extensive experience in the Mental health sector and works with organisations delivering programmes and sessions to ensure optimum mental wellness is achieved.

Speaking about the event, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Diana Armstrong, said;

“There is no doubt that the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions imposed to help curb the spread of the coronavirus, has had an adverse effect on our mental health. We are, by nature, a very sociable race and being unable to spend any time with our loved ones, being away from the social benefits that going to work or going to school or even going out to pubs, clubs or restaurants provides, has undoubtedly negatively impacted all of us right across the age spectrum.

Looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health as both are to a large extend interdependent on one another. Your health is your wealth, be that mental or physical.

I welcome the recent announcement by the Health Minister committing an additional £10m of funding to support the work of Mental Health charities in Northern Ireland to help mitigate against the costs incurred with the increase demand for services as a result of Covid-related mental health issues.

I am looking forward to hearing from Emma on the day and I would encourage as many of you as possible to sign up to this event.”
