With the first tranche of the Department for the Economy’s “Spend Local” £100 pre-paid cards due to be issued week commencing 4 October 2021 to those who successfully applied to the scheme, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Errol Thompson is encouraging residents to ‘spend local to support local.

Speaking about the Spend Local voucher card scheme, Councillor Thompson, said:

“The Department for the Economy’s Spend Local scheme aims to boost local businesses following the drop in footfall brought about by the Covid-19 health pandemic.

This scheme is a great way for residents to support local businesses, jobs and livelihoods after what has been a difficult time for our local business community, and I urge residents to support local and spend their cards with local businesses across the district.

The £100 pre-paid card can be used to purchase a whole range of goods and services from local businesses. Fermanagh and Omagh has a fantastic retail, hospitality, visitor and service offering so people really will be spoilt for choice on how and where to spend their voucher.”
