Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will illuminate Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre, Omagh, to mark a number of events taking place throughout the month of October.

The Strule Arts Centre and Enniskillen Castle will be lit blue on 6 October 2019 on behalf of the Motor Neurone Disease Association to promote their 40th anniversary year.

For more information about Motor Neurone Disease or the work of the association, please visit www.mndassociation.org.

On 15 October 2019, Enniskillen Castle will be lit up blue and Strule Arts Centre will be illuminated pink on behalf of SANDS NI and to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week. Baby Loss Awareness Week takes place from 9 – 15 October every year and provides an opportunity for parents, families and friends to remember their precious babies who have died.

SANDS NI supports all bereaved parents who have lost their babies before, during or shortly after birth. For further information on the work of SANDS NI, please visit www.sands.org.uk

Finally, to mark Purple Flag month, Enniskillen Castle and Strule Arts Centre will be lit up blue on 5, 12, 19 and 26 October 2019.

Both Enniskillen and Omagh have purple flag status. The purple flag initiative recognises areas that offer an entertaining, diverse safe and enjoyable night out.

The lighting up of Council buildings to mark specific days of significance is one way in which the Council may provide support to a particular charity.
