The Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Diana Armstrong has welcomed a further easing of Covid-19 restrictions by the Northern Ireland Executive.

“I am delighted that we are seeing yet another step along the way to normalisation with the relaxation of further restrictions by the Northern Ireland Executive.

From today, restaurants and cafes can once again provide indoor hospitality – a welcome treat for everyone and a huge boost to those in the hospitality industry.

Within the tourism sector, hotels and B&Bs can reopen along with indoor visitor attractions including museums and galleries.

For the more active amongst us, we can now enjoy more leisure activities including indoor exercise and training, gyms, swimming, equestrian centres and activity centres; not forgetting the soft play areas for the children.

The Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area has a strong tourism and hospitality product complemented by other unique local offerings within the retail sector, therefore, the reopening of more businesses and the additional services which they can once again provide, is a welcome boost for each and every business as well as the local economy.”

The Chair emphasised the importance of supporting local to aid businesses who make visits to the town-centres in the district such a unique and welcoming experience and to aid the recovery of the district into the future.

Concluding, Councillor Armstrong said “I would encourage you to continue to support our local businesses and stay safe so as we can continue to progress along the pathway to brighter days ahead.”
