PLEASE NOTE: This article is over 1 year old and may not contain the most up-to-date information.

Local writers are invited to submit original works of poetry and short prose for consideration for inclusion in a creative arts anthology called the ‘Literary Atlas of Omagh’.

The ‘literary atlas’ will focus on themes related to reflecting on, promoting and manifesting life in Fermanagh and Omagh with pieces of work that identify hidden gems or are place or location specific particularly encouraged. While the anthology will focus primarily on Fermanagh and Omagh it will encompass, more broadly, any part of Northern Ireland.

The development of the ‘Literary Atlas of Omagh’ is being taken forward by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council as part of its ‘Artsland’ project.

Artsland is a programme involving artists from across the globe living, working and creating in the Fermanagh and Omagh district. Each artist delivers a programme of social engagement activities with a variety of local community, youth and other groups, across the three themes of Artsland – Arts for All; Multiple Identities and Loughs and Bogs & Mountains. This project is funded by Arts Council NI and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council.

For further information and guidelines on submitting content for consideration for inclusion in the ‘Literary Atlas of Omagh’ please visit Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s website fermanaghomagh.com, email culture@fermanaghomagh.com or telephone the Arts and Heritage team at Fermanagh and Omagh District Council on 0300 303 1777 (calls charged at local rate) or Textphone 028 8225 6216.
