Adrian in running for Local Government Employee of the Year
12th February 2020
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council Rural Orderly, Adrian Elliott, has been shortlisted for the prestigious Northern Ireland Local Government Employee of the Year Award.
Adrian, who is from Garrison, is just one of three Council officials from across Northern Ireland to be shortlisted for this award which acknowledges excellence in local government public services.
His tremendous work ethic and dedication were recognised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in 2019, when he was selected as joint Employee of the Year at the Council’s annual staff recognition awards.
Adrian joined the former Fermanagh District Council in 1995 and is a Rural Orderly in West Fermanagh. His work involves ensuring that some of the most scenic areas in the district are kept free from litter and fly-tipping. He is a familiar figure in West Fermanagh covering the many villages and the many rural roads around them.
Congratulating Adrian on being shortlisted for the award, the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie said:
“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is committed to providing high quality, accessible services for our residents and visitors to the district.
We are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated and committed workforce. Our staff work incredibly hard and with great enthusiasm to deliver services to improve the quality of life of our residents and to develop and promote the district as a desirable place to live, work, visit and invest.
I am delighted that Adrian has been shortlisted for this year’s final, where he will be representing all our staff at Fermanagh and Omagh District Council. Adrian was recognised in by the Council in 2019 when he was a worthy joint winner as Employee of the Year at the Council’s annual Staff Recognition awards. He is an excellent ambassador for the Council and his colleagues and I wish him the very best on the evening.”
