1 FT SQ Exhibition for 2019 to open at the Strule Arts Centre

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s 12th annual 1 FT SQ exhibition was officially opened recently by the Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Siobhán Currie.

The exhibition, which is on display at the Gallery, Strule Arts Centre, Omagh showcases a diverse and eclectic range of artworks,114 works in total, by thirty seven different artists..

At the Opening of this year’s exhibition, Ciara Hambly of Hambly & Hambly Gallery and Cultural Hub, Enniskillen and Paul McKenna of the McKenna Gallery in Omagh adjudicated the entries. Due to the high standard of work presented, five prizewinners were selected. The joint first prizewinners are Sasha O Brien (a solo exhibition at Strule Arts Centre, Omagh) and Peadar McDaid (one week residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakerrig), joint second prizewinners are Olwyn Colgan and Julie Murphy (one week residency each) and third prizewinner Patricia Kelly wins £150 towards art materials.

1 FT SQ continues at Strule Arts Centre until Saturday 4 January 2020. The Strule Arts Centre is open Monday – Friday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and admission to the exhibition is free.

The exhibition will then transfer to the headquarters of Waterways Ireland, Sligo Road, Enniskillen opening on Thursday 9 January – 1 February 2020.
