Tourism Development Strategy – we’re keen to hear your views!

We're keen to hear your views to help us develop a new strategy to help boost tourism in the area.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council has engaged tourism consultants, BTS, to prepare a survey of the tourism trade – everyone who makes a living from visitors – and workshops to help the preparation of a new strategy to boost tourism across the whole area. This will provide a framework for action, to identify what priorities the Council should concentrate on, as well as help draw down EU and Government funding to promote and develop tourism.

We want the Council’s tourism priorities and direction to be based on market and visitor needs, on stakeholders’ ambitions and on the views of operators working across the area. So participating in the survey is important. You’ll find the survey link here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FTXYP6S

We’ve also got more information about the project and the approach on our consultant’s web site, where you can also find the contact details of the consultants if you want to communicate with them direct: www.businesstourismsolutions.com/fermanaghomaghtourism.htm

The consultants will also be running two workshops for the tourism trade and we hope that you would want to participate in one of these:

·         Tuesday 29 September at 5pm-7pm in The Townhall, Enniskillen (Committee Room)

·         Wednesday 30 September 5pm-7pm in Strule Arts Centre, Omagh (Dance Studio)

Please use town centre car parks. You can register for the workshops at:

Any queries about the survey or approach, please contact our researchers BTS on 0131 625 7043 or ivan@businesspointer.co.uk
