A free ‘Come and try it’ paddle sport session for young people with a disability will take place at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum on Sunday 20 November 2016, 12.30pm.

The free session which has been organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council as part of its inclusive leisure programme, will take place in the Forum’s swimming pool.

The ‘Come and try it’ session, suitable for 11 to 18 year olds, will enable young people with a disability to receive expert coaching on a range of paddle sports such as canoeing and stand up paddle boarding. All necessary equipment will be provided.

Speaking about the forthcoming paddle sport session, Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Mary Garrity, said:

“The Council is committed to creating more opportunities for our residents to get active so that they can enjoy the benefits of leading an active lifestyle. The paddle sport come and try it session will enable water activity enthusiasts to try different paddle sport activities through coaching and instruction from qualified coaches.”

Participation on the come and try it session is free of charge, however places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Participants must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or carer for the duration of the session.
