Open call for aspiring actors to get involved in Strule Arts Centre community pantomime

Published: 19th May 2016

Calling all aspiring actors… would you like to get involved in a Community Pantomime at Strule Arts Centre?

For the first time ever the Strule Arts Centre is organising a pantomime and is looking for members of the local community to take part!

The community pantomime is based on the well-known fairytale “Jack and the Beanstalk” and will take place in the Strule Arts Centre from 26 – 29 January 2017. Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is seeking expressions of interest from people of all ages and from all sections of the community to take part in this exciting production.

Auditions will be held in Strule Arts Centre on 1 and 2 July for a number of leading roles as well as dancers and parts in the chorus. No previous acting experience is necessary. The pantomime will provide a fresh and exciting way for people from throughout the district to perform to large audiences and work together on a production whilst showcasing the talents in the local community.  For those new to the stage, getting involved will provide the opportunity to grow in confidence, meet new people and learn new skills.

Encouraging people to get involved in the community pantomime, Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said: “The community pantomime is an exciting new project and will provide individuals with a wonderful platform to share and showcase local talents, skills and a sense of pride in our locality. The Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area has a rich heritage in all forms of the arts, including music and drama, and I am confident that there is enough local talent to make this project a huge success. I would encourage anyone who has an interest in entertaining others to come along and give the auditions a try.”

If you would like to get involved download an Expression of Interest form from the relevant section of the Council’s website or contact Strule Arts Centre on 028 8224 7831 email info@struleartscentre.co.uk

The deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is Friday 10 June 2016 at 5.00pm.
