Maintenance work on Queen Elizabeth Boulevard

Willow trees

Published: 6th October 2017

Maintenance works to the Willow trees (Salix alba) on the Queen Elizabeth Boulevard, Enniskillen, will take place during October.

The works, which will be undertaken by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, will involve the reduction of the trees’ canopy or crown and a significant reduction in the trees’ height. The trees will also be reshaped into a more formal style in keeping with an urban setting.

Such maintenance works are necessary to ensure the effective long-term management of the trees and to contain the trees within the bounds of the site.

The work will be undertaken by professional tree specialists, in compliance with health and safety standards and is scheduled to commence on Tuesday 10 October 2017. It is anticipated that it will take 3 days to complete subject to favourable weather conditions. Works will take place during off peak hours to minimise disruption.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council apologises for any inconvenience experienced during this time.
