Irish classes and activities in Strule Arts Centre

Published: 7th January 2016

A programme of Irish language classes and cultural activities organised by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will resume in Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on Wednesday 13 January 2016.

The popular sean-nós and set dancing class will take place from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm for nine weeks.  The class, which is a fun way to get active and keep fit, is open to all levels of dancers and costs £20.00.

The singing in Irish group, Ceoltóirí na hÓmaí, which performed at the Christmas concert, Ceolchoirm na Nollag, in Strule Arts Centre in December, will meet from 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm.  This free weekly event is an enjoyable way to learn Irish and is open to everyone with new members especially welcome.

A nine-week Irish language course, which will cater for beginners, improvers and advanced level learners, is also starting at Strule Arts Centre on January 13. The class starts at 8.00 pm and lasts 90 minutes. The nine week course costs £25.00.

For more information on any of these classes or activities contact Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Irish Language Officer, Kevin Goodwin, on 028 8225 6220 or by emailing kevin.goodwin@fermanaghomagh.com
