It will be ‘Hat’s off to Forthill’ on Friday 24 July 2015 when the historic Forthill Park in Enniskillen hosts an afternoon of free family fun as part of Love Parks Week.

Love Parks Week (24 July to 2 August 2015) is a UK-wide celebration of green spaces. The ‘Hat’s off to Forthill’ event is being organised by Fermanagh County Museum as part of the Week.

From 2 pm to 5 pm on July 24, the Victorian Forthill Park, which overlooks the island town of Enniskillen, will host a mobile fun farm, face-painting and balloon-shaping. Cathy McGovern will perform musical entertainment from the Bandstand while Jo-Jingles will provide children’s music, singing and movement for little ones throughout the afternoon.

Butterfly Conservation NI staff will also be on hand with butterfly nets and will help event goers discover the various types of moths and butterflies that live in Forthill Park.

Everyone attending the event is encouraged to pack a picnic basket, wear their favourite hat and to make an afternoon of it.

Speaking about the ‘Hat’s off to Forthill’ event, Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said:

“Our family events in Forthill Park are always very popular and we look forward to welcoming locals and visitors alike to this summer event. The afternoon is a wonderful way for people to enjoy family fun and entertainment in a beautiful natural setting in the heart of Enniskillen.”

Admission to the event and its associated activities are free of charge. For further information about the ‘Hat’s off to Forthill’ event, please contact Catherine Scott, Fermanagh County Museum, on 028 6632 5000 or email catherine.scott@fermanaghomagh.com.
