Published: 16th January 2017

Young people with a disability will have the opportunity to develop their golfing skills as part of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Inclusive Leisure programme.

A free 12 week golf programme, which is suitable for 11 to 17 year olds, will be delivered by qualified instructors at Omagh Golf Club and the Lough Erne Resort Golf Academy, Enniskillen.

The programme starts at Omagh Golf Club on Tuesday 31 January 2017 at 4.30 pm and at the Lough Erne Resort Golf Academy, Enniskillen on Saturday 4 February 2017 at 11 am.

Lessons last for one hour and all necessary equipment will be provided.

Speaking about the forthcoming golf programme, Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Mary Garrity, said:

“The Council is pleased to provide young people with a disability the opportunity to participate in coached golf lessons enabling them to try a new sport or develop and refine their skills on the golf course through expert coaching.”

Participation on the programme is free, however places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Participants on the programme must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or carer for the duration of each one hour coaching session.
