Enniskillen Castle to be illuminated purple for sarcoidosis awareness day

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is illuminating Enniskillen Castle purple on Wednesday 13 April 2016 to mark World Sarcoidosis Day.

Enniskillen Castle will be lit purple in support of Enniskillen Sarcoidosis Support Group’s awareness raising activities of the condition. The support group meets regularly to support members and their families across Fermanagh.

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease which can occur in any organ of the body but primarily affects the lungs, eyes, lymph nodes and skin. The condition is estimated to affect one in every 10,000 people in the United Kingdom.

The lighting up of Council buildings to mark specific days of significance is one way in which the Council may provide support to a particular charity.

Enquiries reading illuminating Council properties and charity support should be made to Louise McLaughlin, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council’s Community Services team, by telephoning 0300 303 1777 or emailing louise.mclaughlin@fermanaghomagh.com.
