Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre to be illuminated orange

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is lighting two of its buildings orange on Tuesday 12 July 2016 in recognition of orange culture, tradition and heritage, particularly in respect of Orange Order members who fought at the Battle of the Somme in 1916.

The request to light the buildings orange was made to Council by the Orange Community Network (OCN). OCN is a registered charity which supports and develops the work with community groups that meet in Orange Halls. It also provides and assists in the provision of facilities for recreation and leisure activities in the interests of social welfare.

The lighting up of Council buildings to mark specific days of significance is one way in which the Council may provide support to a particular charity. Due to the amber weather warning, all Council offices and facilities are closed for the remainder of today, Monday 16 October 2017. We are currently working on the basis that Council services will resume as normal tomorrow (Tuesday 17 October 2017) however we will be keeping this under review. This position may change depending on weather conditions.
