Enniskillen 10k road race & leisure walk results

Over 800 walkers and runners took part in the Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk on Saturday 10 June 2017.

The event got under way at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum with the children’s fun run at 12 noon. All of the children who took part in the fun run received a medal and refreshments.

At 2.00 pm, over 800 walkers and runners of all ages and fitness levels gathered at the starting line for the day’s main event, the Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk.

Stephen Duncan from Omagh was the overall winner and first in the Male Open and 45 – 49 age category winning £110 and a Belleek Living piece with a winning time of 33 minutes and 7 seconds.

Stephen Cassidy from Irvinestown finished second overall in the Male Open and first in the 35 – 39 age category with a time of 33 minutes and 53 seconds whilst Pierce McCullagh from Omagh finished third overall in the Male Open and second in the 35 – 39 age category with a time of 34 minutes and 55 seconds.

Marina Murphy from Derry was the overall female winner and first in the Female Open and 35 – 39 age category winning £110 and a Belleek Living Piece with a winning time of 38 minutes and 44 seconds.

Shileen O’Kane from Belfast finished second overall in the Female Open and first in the 45 – 49 age category with a time of 41 minutes and 12 seconds whilst Julia Williams from Ballinamallard finished third overall in the Female Open and second in the 45 – 49 age category with a time of 41 minutes and 36 seconds.

The 10k route started at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum, Enniskillen and took participants through Enniskillen to the National Trust’s Castle Coole estate, around the Killyhevlin Industrial Estate, up the Ardhowen Hill, towards Derrychara playing fields, over the Millennium footbridge and across the finish line at the Fermanagh Lakeland Forum.

The Enniskillen 10k Road Race and Leisure Walk is funded by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council and supported by the National Trust and Enniskillen Rotary Club.

Residents of the Fermanagh and Omagh district are being urged to look out for a letter and calendar from Fermanagh and Omagh District Council from 21 August letting them know which day their bin will be collected on from September.
