Deadline approaching to take part in Culture Night 2015

Published: 2nd July 2015

The deadline for individuals, groups and venues to participate in this year’s Culture Night in the Omagh area is approaching, with expression of interest forms to be submitted to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council by 5 pm, Friday 17 July 2015.

Culture Night 2015 is an all-Ireland celebration of culture, creativity and the arts and will make a return to the Omagh area for a third year this autumn.

Taking place on Friday 18 September 2015, Culture Night will see galleries, churches, historic buildings, artists’ studios, culture centres, sports clubs and many more opening their doors from 5 pm to 11 pm, so members of the public can sample the area’s local cultural offering.

A number of Omagh based groups and venues have already signed up to be part of this year’s cultural event including An Creagan Visitor Centre, Dun Uladh Cultural Heritage Centre, McKenna’s Gallery, Mullaghmore House, Omagh Ethnic Community Support Group, Omagh Churches’ Forum, Open Door Poetry Group, the Royal British Legion, Spires Art Gallery, Tattykeel Design Studio, Tyrone GAA and local historian and genealogist Vincent Brogan.

Encouraging more people to get involved in this year’s Culture Night in the Omagh area, Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said:

“Culture Night 2015 is a great way for groups, venues and individuals to showcase talents, skills and local cultural heritage.

It is wonderful to see such a range of people, groups and organisations already signed up to take part in this year’s Culture Night. There is still time however for more people to get involved in this celebration of culture, creativity and the arts by submitting an Expression of Interest form before the July 17 deadline.”

To be a part of this year’s Culture Night, please download an Expression of Interest form from the related files section on this web page or telephone the Strule Arts Centre on 028 8224 7831

Completed forms must be returned to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council by 5 pm, Friday 17 July.
