Cuilcagh Mountain Boardwalk Re-opens

Published: 9th May 2017

CUILCAGH MOUNTAIN BOARDWALK UPDATE – Tuesday 9th May

Cuilcagh Mountain Boardwalk will re-open to the public today following the heather fire which was burning on the mountain from Saturday evening into yesterday. The fire has been extinguished due to the efforts of NIFRS West and Geopark staff. However, there continues to be a high fire risk in this area as this dry spell continues and visitors are reminded that BBQ’s and lit cigarettes are not permitted on the walk. All visitors are encouraged to be extra vigilant and report any signs of fire or smoke by contacting +44 (0) 28 66348855 immediately.

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council would like to thank the staff of the NI Fire and Rescue Service West for their efforts over the past number of days.
