Council publishes update to Corporate Plan 2017-2019

In light of the introduction of the Community Plan for the area, ‘Fermanagh and Omagh 2030’, the Council has now revised its Corporate Plan 2015-19 and produced a Corporate Plan Update for the 2017-2019 period incorporating improvement objectives.

This Update aligns the Council’s Vision, Values and corporate priorities to those set out in the Community Plan for the district and identifies the key actions to be completed in the remaining two years of the current Council term. The Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Stephen McCann, commented on the importance of the Plan noting that “this document demonstrates the contribution which the Council will make over the 2017-19 period to the delivery of the Community Plan and how the Council will fulfil its statutory and other responsibilities, including achieving continuous improvement”.

Commenting on the launch of the Corporate Plan Update 2017-19, the Council’s Chief Executive, Brendan Hegarty, noted that “the Plan signifies the Council’s commitment to embedding community planning in its organisational culture and business planning processes and to ensuring that the Council fulfils its responsibilities towards improving the quality of life and wellbeing of its citizens”.

The Corporate Plan Update also includes information on the 2017/18 Improvement Objectives the Council plans to deliver. These Improvement Objectives were agreed after an extensive public consultation exercise which ended on 17 April 2017.

Performance reports will be published in September each year setting out progress achieved in the previous financial year towards our corporate priorities and improvement objectives.

Due to the amber weather warning, all Council offices and facilities are closed for the remainder of today, Monday 16 October 2017. We are currently working on the basis that Council services will resume as normal tomorrow (Tuesday 17 October 2017) however we will be keeping this under review. This position may change depending on weather conditions.
