Council launches Inclusive Leisure programme for adults

A free Inclusive Leisure programme for adults has been launched by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council as part of its ongoing inclusive activity programme.

The new 8-week programme will take place at Council leisure centres across the district and will include activities such as Boccia, Kurling and a variation of Tai-chi called Chi-Me.

The 60-minute sessions will be delivered by fully qualified Fermanagh and Omagh District Council activity instructors with all necessary equipment provided.

The weekly programme will start on Thursday 2 February 2017 at the Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown at 1.30 pm; Friday 3 February 2017 at the Castle Park Leisure Centre, Lisnaskea at 1 pm and Tuesday 7 February 2017 at Omagh Leisure Complex at 12.30 pm.

Speaking about the forthcoming programme, Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Mary Garrity, said;

“Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is pleased to introduce a new Inclusive Leisure programme for our residents.

Keeping fit and active is key to physical health and social well-being. The Inclusive Leisure programme will enable participants to get active while meeting new people and having fun.”

Participation on the programme is free however places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Due to the amber weather warning, all Council offices and facilities are closed for the remainder of today, Monday 16 October 2017. We are currently working on the basis that Council services will resume as normal tomorrow (Tuesday 17 October 2017) however we will be keeping this under review. This position may change depending on weather conditions.
