Council invites sponsorship for flowerbeds

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council works tirelessly throughout the year to prepare and maintain planting schemes, flowerbeds and containers around the towns and villages across the district. During the summer months these bright and colourful planting schemes enhance the local environment and make the district more welcoming. Last year Omagh was awarded Best Large Town in Translink’s ‘Ulster in Bloom’ competition for the colourful floral displays throughout the town, and Enniskillen was placed 3rd and Irvinestown 2nd in their respective classes in the same competition in 2014.

Preparations for planting schemes for 2016 have already commenced, and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is offering an opportunity to local businesses across the district to contribute to making the principal towns attractive and colourful and improving their local environment, by sponsoring the planting scheme at one of the roundabouts on the approach roads to the town.

The Council will continue to have responsibility for the planting, weeding, watering and grass cutting of the area, with the sponsor contributing to the cost. In addition to instilling a sense of pride in the local community, the benefits to the sponsor include creating brand awareness and maintaining high profile advertising through small advertising signage erected at each location.

Any company interested in sponsoring flowerbeds should contact the Council’s Environment and Place Directorate for full details, including available locations and application forms, by emailing sarah.boyle@fermanaghomagh.com . Expressions of interest should be received before Thursday 18 February 2016.
