Council Buildings to be lit yellow

Published: 4th October 2016

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is illuminating two of its properties yellow on Thursday 6th October 2016 to recognise ADHD Awareness Month.

Enniskillen Castle and the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh will be lit yellow on October 6 to raise awareness of ADHD and show support for local children’s hospice services.

ADHD is a neuro-psychiatric condition. It is characterised by problems paying attention, excessive activity or difficulty in controlling behaviour which is not appropriate for a person’s age.

The support organisation for ADHD is Adultadhdni. Monthly support group meetings are held in both Omagh and Enniskillen. Further information on ADHD is available online at www.adultadhdni.org

The lighting up of Council buildings to mark specific days of significance is one way in which the Council may provide support to a particular charity. Enquiries regarding illuminating Council properties and charity support should be made to Louise McLaughlin, Community Services, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council by telephoning 0300 303 1777 or emailing louise.mclaughlin@fermanaghomagh.com.
