Chance to have say on future sports facilities in the district

Consultation events about future sports facilities for the district will take place in Omagh and Irvinestown

Published: 16th July 2015

What sports facilities would you like to see in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area?

That is the question Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, in partnership with Sport NI, is asking clubs and organisations across the district to help in developing a Sports Facilities Strategy for the area.

The Sports Facilities Strategy will highlight existing sports facilities provision in the district and identify sports facility development needs for the future. It will also provide a framework for the development of local sports facilities in the Fermanagh and Omagh district in the long-term.

Interested parties are invited to attend one of two consultation events to share their views and opinions about existing and future sports facility provision in the Fermanagh and Omagh district.

The first consultation event will be held in Omagh Leisure Complex on Thursday 30 July 2015 at 7pm while the second consultation event will take place in the Bawnacre Centre, Irvinestown on Wednesday 5 August 2015 at 7pm.

11 district council area reports relating to local sports facility provision are being developed as part of a new Sports Facilities Strategy for Northern Ireland.  It is anticipated that the area report for the Fermanagh and Omagh district will be completed by October 2015.

To confirm attendance at one of the consultation events or for further information, please email conor.mccrory@fermanaghomagh.com or keith.collen@fermanaghomagh.com. Alternatively, telephone Keith Collen or Conor McCrory on 0300 303 1777.
