Call for entries to 2nd Tyrone Open Submission Exhibition

Amateur and professional artists are being offered the opportunity to exhibit their work in the 2nd Tyrone Open Submission Exhibition.

The open art exhibition, which will showcase recent works by artists who were born or currently live in County Tyrone, will be coordinated and hosted  by the Strule Arts Centre, Omagh, from Friday 15 January to Saturday 13 February 2016.

Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly and members of the Strule Arts Centre Advisory Board officially opened the call for entries to the exhibition last week. The call for entries remains open until 5pm, 6 January 2016.

Speaking about the 2nd Tyrone Open Submission Exhibition, Councillor O’Reilly, said:

“The 2nd Tyrone Open Submission Exhibition provides a wonderful opportunity for local artists to exhibit their work in the Strule Arts Centre state of the art gallery while showcasing the creative talent of the local area.”

The exhibition is open to all artists aged 18 years or over by 1 January 2016, living or born in County Tyrone. Artwork must be 2D, a maximum size of 50cm by 50cm including frame, recent and must not have been exhibited previously.  All art mediums are eligible.

Selection for the final exhibition will be made by an independent Curator, assisted by two members of the Strule Arts Centre Advisory Board.

Due to the amber weather warning, all Council offices and facilities are closed for the remainder of today, Monday 16 October 2017. We are currently working on the basis that Council services will resume as normal tomorrow (Tuesday 17 October 2017) however we will be keeping this under review. This position may change depending on weather conditions.
