Applications open for Social Partners to join Peace IV Partnership

Published: 26th August 2016

Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is currently seeking applications from members of the local community to join a voluntary partnership that will monitor the delivery of a peace building action plan for the district.

The Fermanagh and Omagh district has been allocated €3.3 million under the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation 2014-2020. The Council is currently developing a Peace and Reconciliation Action Plan for the district which will be used to bid for the multi-million euro allocation.

Representatives from key sectors such as community, voluntary and business, and individuals who can represent rural communities, trade unions, minority ethnic communities, people with a disability, children and young people and older people, are invited to apply to join the Peace IV Partnership as Social Partners.

The Peace IV Partnership will monitor the effective delivery of the Peace and Reconciliation Action Plan for the district. The Action Plan will support peace building actions and initiatives under the three specific objectives of the Peace IV programme – children and young people; shared spaces; and building positive relations at a local level.

Members of the Peace IV Partnership will include local Councillors, representatives from statutory bodies and Social Partners.

Social Partners must live in, work in or have a significant interest in the Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area.

Further information about becoming a Social Partner and an application pack is available from the related files panel on this web page. Alternatively contact Deborah McCartan, Peace IV Programme Co-ordinator, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council by emailing peaceiv@fermanaghomagh.com or telephoning 0300 303 1777.

Applications must be returned no later than 12 noon, Thursday 15 September 2016.
