All Ireland Pipe Band Championship set for Omagh

The All-Ireland Pipe Band and Drum Major Championships will take place on Saturday 4 July 2015 at Omagh Rugby Club.

The Championships, hosted by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in partnership with the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch, will take place from 12 pm to 6 pm.  More than 40 of Ireland’s top Pipe Bands and Drum Majors are expected to compete for various titles throughout the day.

Helping to launch the All-Ireland Pipe Band and Drum Major Championships, Chairman of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O’Reilly, said:

“I am delighted that the All-Ireland Pipe Band and Drum Major Championships are taking place in Omagh on Saturday 4 July. The event will offer people a wonderful opportunity to see and hear some of the very best pipe bands in Ireland.”

The Omagh Show is also taking place on Saturday 4 July 2015 at the Tyrone Farming Society on the Gillygooley Road.

A free shuttle bus will be available from Omagh Bus Station throughout the Saturday afternoon to both events. Traffic control measures will be in place however people attending the All-Ireland Pipe Band and Drum Major Championship or Omagh Show are advised to allow extra time for parking.

Due to the amber weather warning, all Council offices and facilities are closed for the remainder of today, Monday 16 October 2017. We are currently working on the basis that Council services will resume as normal tomorrow (Tuesday 17 October 2017) however we will be keeping this under review. This position may change depending on weather conditions.
