The 9th 1 FT SQ exhibition opened in the Gallery at Strule Arts Centre, Omagh on Thursday 26 January 2017 at 7.00 pm.

The 1FT SQ exhibition is an event that has been growing annually and attracts artists of all genres and creative backgrounds. The exhibition has just recently shown at the Higher Bridges Gallery, Enniskillen.

Last autumn, Fermanagh and Omagh District Council issued an open call to the arts community to exhibit in the 1 FT SQ exhibition, with more than 70 new, emerging, established and professional Artists from across the island of Ireland submitting works for exhibition and sale. Bringing the exhibition to Strule Arts Centre gives the Artists an opportunity to present their artwork to a new audience.

Officially opening the exhibition, Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Mary Garrity said:

“Opportunities for individual Artists to showcase and sell their work are extremely limited, so exhibitions such as this one are extremely important, not only as an outlet through which work can be sold but it also creates a platform from which the arts community can exhibit their talents together in a dedicated art gallery”.

She added, “This exhibition also presents a perfect opportunity for the discerning art lover to purchase something that little bit different, quirky and unique for a loved one or just for yourself….. so, I invite you to encourage family and friends to visit the gallery at the Strule Arts Centre to view the works on display.”

The 1 FT SQ exhibition runs until Saturday 11 February 2017, Gallery admission is free. Strule Arts Centre is open Monday to Saturday, 9.30 am to 5.00 pm.
