1FT SQ art exhibition opens at Higher Bridges Gallery

Published: 19th December 2016

The 9th 1 FT SQ exhibition opened at the Higher Bridges Gallery, Enniskillen on Friday 16 December 2016.

The exhibition includes over 150 artworks, each measuring one foot square in size, by more than 70 artists from the island of Ireland.

Speaking at the exhibition launch, Chairperson of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Mary Garrity, said:

“The exhibitors selected who are showing in this year’s exhibition are from all over Ireland and have created a wonderful display of art work.

Exhibitions such as this one are of great importance, not only as an avenue through which work can be sold but it also creates a platform from which the arts community can participate and showcase together in a high-profile art gallery.

This exhibition creates the perfect opportunity for one to purchase something that little bit different, quirky and unique for a loved one or just for yourself this Christmas.”

As part of the exhibition’s opening night, prizes were awarded by a panel to artists Wendy Ferguson, Michael Hoy and Kaye Mahs.

The 1 FT SQ exhibition continues at the Higher Bridges Gallery, which is in the Clinton Centre on Belmore Street, Enniskillen, until Saturday 21 January 2017.

The opening times of the gallery are Tuesday to Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. The gallery will be closed over the Christmas period from Friday 23 December 2016 and will reopen on Tuesday 3 January 2017. Admission to the gallery is free.
